Two ways to transcribe
Koltype turns your speech into text on your own PC. Your voice never leaves it.
Each phrase is sent over an encrypted connection and turned into text. Our servers process it in memory and discard it, and never store your audio. We use a US-based speech-recognition provider bound by a data processing agreement. It may keep the audio and text of a request for up to 30 days to detect abuse, then deletes them (see the privacy policy).
Koltype Cloud opens soon. Until then, Koltype works on your computer, and everything else is ready.
In Automatic mode, the default, Koltype uses Koltype Cloud when your plan includes it and your computer otherwise.
Extra minutes
Example: a heavy month on Pro
You dictate about 40 minutes every working day: 22 days x 40 = 880 cloud minutes. The first 600 are included; the other 280 are extra.
The $5.60 is under the default $10 cap, so it is added to your next renewal. With a $5 cap, Koltype Cloud would stop after 250 extra minutes ($5.00), your computer would take over, and the total would be $14.90. With extra minutes off, you never pay more than $9.90 a month plus tax.
Prices are in US dollars and do not include tax. Paddle, our merchant of record, sells the subscription for us, adds VAT or sales tax at checkout where it applies and sends you the invoice.

Start it in the Koltype app under Settings, Billing.Koltype Cloud opens soon. Once it does, you start the trial in the Koltype app under Settings, Billing. You get 10 minutes of Koltype Cloud, for 3 days, and 5 more minutes once if you need them. Paddle's checkout asks for a card or PayPal, but nothing is charged when the trial starts, and nothing at all if you cancel before it ends, in the app or on your account page. If you do not cancel, Pro starts when the trial ends: $9.90 a month plus VAT or sales tax, until you cancel. We email you 2 days, 1 day, 5 hours and 1 hour before the end.
So Pro can carry on without a gap if you like it, and to keep one trial per person. Nothing is charged when the trial starts. Cancel trial is one click in the app (Settings, Billing) or on your account page; it ends the trial at once and nothing is charged. If you forget and are charged, ask within 14 days and you get the payment back in full.

No. Pro's cloud minutes start again every month on the day your plan started. Free minutes start again on the first day of each month.
Yes: $99 a year. You still get 600 Koltype Cloud minutes every month. Extra minutes over that are charged at once when $10 or more builds up, and otherwise with your yearly renewal.
Yes, from your account page. Pro stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, then your account moves to Free. Extra minutes that are not billed yet are charged when you cancel. Extra minutes you use after that are charged when Pro ends, and a final amount under $0.70 is not charged.
Refunds are handled by Paddle under its refund policy. For a first purchase you can ask for a refund within 14 days. The refund policy has the details.
Yes, on up to 3 computers. They share the same minutes. Signing in on a fourth signs out the one you have not used for the longest time. You can sign any computer out from your account page.
